Neutron
Privacy policy
Last updated 19 June 2026
This policy explains what Neutron collects, why, and the choices you have. It is short and specific on purpose.
01 Who we are
Neutron is an AI worksheet engine that turns your study material into exam-style worksheets and mark schemes. If you have any question about your data, email neutronworksheets@gmail.com.
02 What we collect
- Account details. Your email address, and if you sign in with Google, your name and basic profile. Sign-in is handled by Google Firebase Authentication.
- Study material you upload. The notes, PDFs and images you provide so we can write a paper (see section 3 for how these are handled).
- Your library. The worksheets and mark schemes we generate for you, the transcribed text of your notes, and your marking attempts and scores. These are saved to your account so your library works across devices.
- Account state. Your credit balance and plan.
- Technical data. Basic information your browser sends (device type, approximate location from IP, error logs) used to keep the service working and secure.
03 How your uploads are handled
Your uploaded files are sent directly to our AI provider so they can be read and turned into a paper. We do not keep the uploaded files once a paper is produced. We do save the generated worksheet and the transcribed text of your notes to your library, so retakes and marking work without re-uploading. You can delete any of this at any time from your library.
04 AI processing
To write and mark papers, your material is sent to OpenRouter, which routes the request to a large language model (for example, models operated by Google). These providers process the content to return your result and handle it under their own terms. We do not use your material to train any models of our own.
05 How we use your data
To provide the service, keep your account and library working, process payments for paid plans, keep Neutron secure, and meet our legal obligations. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
06 Who we share it with
Only the providers that run the service on our behalf:
- Google Firebase for authentication, the database that holds your library, and hosting of our server functions.
- OpenRouter and the model providers it routes to, for generation and marking.
- A payment processor if you buy a paid plan, to handle the transaction.
07 Retention
Library data stays until you delete it or ask us to close your account. Uploaded files are not retained after processing. Limited security and backup logs are kept for a short period and then removed.
08 Your choices and rights
You can view and delete any paper from your library at any time. To request a copy of your data, or to delete your account entirely, email neutronworksheets@gmail.com. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, port, or object to the processing of your data.
09 Cookies and local storage
We use your browser's local storage and authentication cookies to keep you signed in and remember a few preferences. If bot protection (Google reCAPTCHA, via Firebase App Check) is switched on, Google may set related cookies. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
10 Students and younger users
Neutron is built for students and is often used by minors. If you are below the age of digital consent in your country, please use Neutron with the involvement of a parent, teacher, or school. Schools using Neutron with their students are responsible for obtaining any consents their local rules require.
11 Security
Sensitive operations (the AI provider key and your credit balance) are handled only on our servers, never in your browser. Access to your account data requires your sign-in. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
12 Changes
We may update this policy. When we make a material change, we will update the date at the top.
Neutron
Terms of service
Last updated 19 June 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Neutron when you use the app. Plain language, no surprises.
01 Accepting these terms
By using Neutron you agree to these terms and to our Privacy policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
02 What Neutron does
Neutron generates exam-style worksheets and mark schemes from material you provide, and can mark your worked answers. It is a study aid. It is not an official exam product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any exam board or awarding body. Exam board names are referenced only to describe a question style.
03 Your account
You need an account to generate papers. Keep your login details safe; you are responsible for activity that happens under your account. Please give accurate information when you sign up.
04 AI content and accuracy
Worksheets, mark schemes, and marking are produced by AI and may contain mistakes, including incorrect facts, answers, or mark allocations. Always check generated material before relying on it for study, teaching, or assessment. Neutron does not guarantee that any output is accurate, complete, or suitable for a particular exam or curriculum.
05 Credits and billing
- Generating and marking papers costs credits, and you always see the cost before you generate.
- Free accounts get a starting credit grant. Paid plans grant more credits each billing cycle; top-up credits do not expire and are spent only after your plan credits run out.
- Credits have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money.
- A generation that fails is refunded in credits automatically.
- Paid plans renew until cancelled. You can change or cancel a plan at any time from your account, effective at the end of the current cycle, except where the law gives you a stronger right.
06 Your material
You keep ownership of the material you upload. You grant Neutron the permission needed to process that material through our providers in order to deliver the service. You are responsible for having the right to upload what you upload. Do not upload material you are not allowed to use, or anything unlawful.
07 The papers you generate
You may use the worksheets and mark schemes Neutron produces for your own study or teaching, including printing them and sharing them with your own students.
08 Acceptable use
Please do not misuse the service. In particular, do not try to break, overload, reverse engineer, or gain unauthorised access to it; do not use it to create unlawful, harmful, or infringing content; and do not resell the service as if it were your own.
09 Availability
We may add, change, suspend, or remove features. We work to keep Neutron available but cannot promise it will be uninterrupted or error free.
10 Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent the law allows. To the extent permitted by law, Neutron is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost data, or exam outcomes, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the three months before the claim.
11 Ending your use
You can stop using Neutron at any time. We may suspend or end access if these terms are broken.
12 Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and continuing to use Neutron means you accept the change.
